Women's Outdoor Connection - Seattle women's event Curious? Watch the recap from Oct 2024. Sign up for event emails. Women’s Outdoor Connection: Where Adventure Begins Together The Women’s Outdoor Connection is more than just a conference—it’s a growing community. Our annual fall gathering in Seattle is a one-day experience where outdoorsy women connect with local clubs, nonprofits, and groups, join inspiring breakout sessions, and walk away with real friendships and future adventure buddies. It’s a place to make new friends, find adventure partners, your people—the ones who get excited about hiking at sunrise, paddling on summer evenings, or trying something new just for the fun of it. Why It Matters So many women think: “I’d love to try that, but who would I go with?” The Women’s Outdoor Connection answers that question with an open invitation: you don’t have to adventure alone. 🌿 “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.” —Amelia Earhart There’s a science to being outdoors—lower stress, clearer thinking, more energy. And there’s a science to connection—stronger health, resilience, and joy when we share experiences with others. With the support of our partners and women like you, the Women’s Outdoor Connection brings both together, so many women leave feeling uplifted, with benefits that ripple through daily life. The best part is in the words of attendees: “I left inspired and motivated to stay active and involved in the outdoor community.” “The opportunity to meet new people and discover exciting local outdoor organizations was fantastic.” And the impact doesn’t stop at the event doors. Together, we raise funds for Mary’s Place of Seattle, supporting women and families in need. The Heart of It The hardest part is deciding to show up—but once you do, the magic unfolds. Every gathering is filled with those “I’m so glad I came ” moments: the person who becomes your adventure buddy, the experience you didn’t think was for you, the confidence that sneaks up and stays with you. This isn’t about lectures or one-time inspiration. With the annual conference and seasonal events, you’ll always have the chance to: Meet new adventure partners Explore activities for the season Strengthen your connection to nature and to other women The fear of missing out here isn’t about pressure—it’s about possibility. Every time we meet, something unforgettable happens. If you’re not there, you’ll hear the stories and wish you had been. 🌿 The Science of Nature + Connection Two hours in nature per week is linked to higher well-being and life satisfaction. Time outdoors lowers cortisol (the stress hormone), boosts creativity, and improves focus. Strong social connections are the single biggest predictor of long-term happiness and health. Shared experiences release oxytocin—the “bonding hormone”—which deepens trust and belonging.
